Capacitor life testing generally involves testing in an oven environment with applied voltage to accelerate capacitor aging, continuing for 2000 to 6000 hours depending on the capacitor's rated lifetime. During this period, the capacitor's capacitance, loss, and leakage current are measured to analyze performance characteristics or failure causes.
Traditionally, this involves manual removal, cooling, and measurement of each unit at scheduled intervals, which is extremely time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to errors. Although capacitors only need to avoid failure to meet customer requirements, TAICON TECH.'s commitment to research and improvement demands precise, reliable, large-volume data and automated experimental efficiency to meet the design needs of high-end capacitors.
Automation of life testing presents significant challenges, requiring not only integrated controls of multiple equipment (oven, ripple power supply, robotic arm...), but also measurement technologies that overcome impedance, electromagnetic interference, and high-temperature challenges. To address these issues, TAICON TECH. has developed multiple patented technologies and continuously improving stability and software functionality over the past decade through real testing experiences.
However, the greatest challenge is that, while equipment successfully measures electrochemical dynamic and trends at high temperatures, it's difficult to interpret the issues without the expertise of capacitor specialists with rich R&D and manufacturing experience. Therefore, TAICON TECH. has designed numerous experiments to capture data for modeling and independently developed analysis tools and application platforms to intelligently assist new product design and quality control.
In 2024, TAICON TECH. launched a productized model for both RD and QA departments, as well as passive component customers.
